Last Wednesday our pool tech had notified us that the filter was leaking.  Replacing it is VERY pricey, so I was relieved when Tom said it isn't leaking.  And then this morning I found this, which says otherwise! 

It actually was spraying quite horizontally despite what it looks like in the photo, 

with the water reaching almost to the deck.

So I see yet another "happy homeowner bill" in our future!  Great name for this business...

 which I take to mean we will be pinching pennies after we pay the bill.

I worked in the yard until about 8:00, and raked up enough pine needles to overstuff both cans. Now I'm cooled off enough to shower (had to wait until I stopped sweating) and then will tackle the fabric mess.
