Brownie had unexpected visitors this morning.  Alex's friends Ian and Allie had been at PetSmart with two of their dogs, and since they were nearby they stopped in to meet Brownie.  I wasn't sure how he would do with two large, unfamiliar dogs, but as soon as I cracked the back door he was out like a shot wanting to play... which totally freaked out Benny, a 120-pound Great Dane/Rottweiler mix.

Aspen, a Dutch Shepherd, is a very recent rescue of theirs, so somewhat of an unknown.  It's a very powerful breed, so it was a little worrisome when Brownie nipped at her hind legs.  One bite back from her could have bitten him in half, so Ian kept a very tight hold on her.

Naturally there was the obligatory sniffing.

The dogs had a blast running around together.

All the romping around made them thirsty.
Of course there were bowls of fresh water available, but they chose the pool.

More pseudo-socializing this afternoon when Latina came over; she still isn't into playing with Brownie - or any other dog for that matter.  Of course we hope that will eventually change.  On the plus side, he is very mellow and patient with her, which should help.

Marcie brought over her Zen clippers to show me,
along with the sizing card with holes.

Brownie was not at all cooperative having his toenails measured, but between Marcie, Alex and me we eventually managed, and decided on size 4 - which I have already ordered.

Zen Clipper Size M #4 - 3mm hole.
For small dogs and larger puppies.
A Dachshund would be a good fit.

Brownie sure loves playing with his boy Alex.

He put on a display of speed, chasing his new ball.

And then he relaxed for a bit.

Later he practiced walking on the leash (he continues to improve) to see Alex's nice clean house (sparkling!) and the huge TV that Mitch helped him mount in the bedroom yesterday.

Tonight Alex has requested permission to take Brownie over to Taylor & Tyler's house to play with their friendly dogs - and Presley.  Assume he will share pictures with me.

And speaking of sharing pictures - I shot a video clip on my camera, and can watch it on my laptop, but having trouble posting it here.  Anyone surprised?
