It was a rough evening because the water in the laundry room escaped under the common wall into the recently remodeled kitchen, right underneath our nice new cabinets.  So we were not only busy emptying the shelves in the laundry room (and tossing some of the stuff on them) in order to move them so we could sop up the water behind them (as well as a couple of decades worth of yucky lint/dust/dirt), but also spent the evening changing towels on the kitchen floor, working to capture as much of the constantly seeping water as we could.

Tom also turned up the heat (and left it that way all night, so it was nice and toasty in this part of the house when I got up around 4:30) as well as ran a fan in the laundry room, in hopes of drying things out as much as possible to avoid mold issues.

I never did get in a soak on Tuesday with the crew here, and was just thinking about getting around to it yesterday when the pool guy showed up (didn't expect him on New Year's Day, but the pool sure needed a lot of attention and his efforts were much appreciated.)

Unfortunately the cottonwoods and mulberries still have a LOT of leaves left to drop, which they are doing now with wild abandon, so the pool is not likely to stay clean for very long.

But with temperatures predicted to warm up some (highs only in the 50s are not why we put up with our summer heat!) I will have a fighting chance of keeping up with them.

So once it's light out soaking is at the top of my agenda.

I could definitely use a relaxing soak after yesterday's 'excitement'.

In the meantime (after I finish playing on the computer) I plan to be productive and attach columns 5 and 6 of the wedding quilt.  Depending on how well that goes I might even get some of the next steps of cleaning the laundry room accomplished before I soak.

Eventually we did  get to relax a bit last evening, watching a few more episodes of Disjointed while making (limited) progress on the butterfly puzzle.

Either our skills have seriously deteriorated with age -

or it's just a damn difficult puzzle!
