Not best night's sleep...
pretty much just dozed off and on since around 3 this morning.

Happy Mothers Day!

This photo was taken when Mom and I were out to lunch
in February of 2018 (the last time Mom visited Arizona?

We've experienced LOUD claps of thunder this morning - and the sky is surprisingly dark.  We'd been "warned" about dry lightning, and even though we weren't expecting rain it actually sprinkled for a few seconds a little earlier.

Dry lightning is a problem since fire season could be particularly bad this year.  Our wet winter generated an abundance of growth which of course creates a tinderbox once our heat dries out the vegetation.

Think I'll actually do a little sewing this morning....  I'm making up some placemats (for me!) with batik penguin fabric and bordered with some of these stunning "scraps" leftover from a quilt of Marcie's.
