 Brownie and I enjoyed perfect weather during our walk this morning.  Then I did some watering out front, encouraging the new little dichondra sprouts to grow big and strong.  

Currently there are tall spots and low spots, and the yard really needs to be mowed.  At least, as of yesterday, the mower is back from the shop - but to the tune $450 worth of latest repairs.

FYI I thought we should have bitten the bullet 

and bought a new mower 3 or 4 repairs ago... but 


 

It's now been three weeks since I requested the organics can, so this morning I again called the City to check.  We are still in the queue, but Lucy (with Customer Service) has no way to check when the can will be delivered - though she said there is definitely a backlog on all requests.  She did, however, answer the question about why palm fronds are not allowed in it: it's because the sharp edges (and they are nasty!) tend to gum up the machines that chew up the vegetation.  (Though wouldn't you think a machine that could shred logs could handle some sharp fronds....?)

  



Now time to get off the computer and get back to quilting, because
