We had a lot of overlapping 'traffic' here yesterday.  Nurse Rose was our first 'visitor', and she was extremely pleased to see that Mom's rash is virtually gone and the edema has improved greatly.  Jocel was next for PT.  One thing she had Mom do was walk the length of the building hallway, which of course was no problem.  Bonnie was third and did her OT assessment.  She went around the apt with Mom, had her get in/out of bed, shower, etc. and had a couple of helpful suggestions.  All of them checked her BP and oxygen saturation, and all readings were at good levels.  They will be coming to the apartment a couple of times a week for the next several weeks, and then Mom should "graduate" to out-patient therapy downstairs.

In the afternoon Anthony from General Services lowered all the closet rods/racks (14", as I'd requested) and it's SO much better for Mom.  One still needs external supports, and all the old holes need to be patched/painted... but all of her clothes are back in there and she's thrilled with the "reachability" of everything.  Anthony also took care of some of the other items on the list, like regluing the loose threshold into the laundry room (a tripping hazard), fixing the linen closet accordion door so it closes and no longer juts out into the hallway, etc. After Anthony had vacuumed up he did, however, rehang the closet door that I'd had Carlos remove the other day when he was here to install the grab bar. It was nice that he noticed something that "needed" to be done <g> and just went ahead and did it, but  I'm glad I noticed that before he left.  (The closet door opens the wrong way and interferes with the bedroom door, so Mom wanted one of them removed.)

Also in the afternoon Mirza came by with Cynthia, who is going to be Mom's aide (instead of Ann Marie, who we met on Thursday.)  Cynthia has quite a broad resume, and Mom liked her better than Ann Marie, so we're all hopeful that things will work out well when she starts on Monday.

Today is Ann's 100th birthday party, which should be a lot of fun.  I do need to get on MapQuest to make sure I know where I'm going.  I'll get to see people I haven't seen in decades, and of course finally meet Bailey, Ann's great-granddaughter.  (Today is actually Bailey's 2nd birthday.)  Her mom Perri recently wrote that Bailey will not sleep without the quilt I made her for her first birthday.

Looking forward to seeing you Saturday.
Also Bailey will not sleep without her blanket, so thank you again.
