It was raining steadily when we loaded up in the driveway.  I  borrowed a raincoat and held an umbrella over Mom so we both stayed fairly dry.  As we drove off we saw Pippa staring out the front (glass) door, looking dejected and forlorn at being left behind.

We pulled into a fully packed parking lot (so much for my prediction) but luckily found a spot where Andy’s ramp could deploy.  There was a wait for a table, but on the plus side at least “the pink place” is in no danger of going out of business!

Our next “problem” was deciding what to order.  Once Mom had, she announced that she was going to get rid of that particular pair of readers because they didn’t seem to be working. I picked them up to see if they would work for me - and discovered the probable <g> problem...

Our table was inside, but we noticed a dog sitting at a table on the (mostly) closed in porch.  I didn’t see it happen, but apparently the man was feeding it with a fork... the same fork he was using to eat!

I had the Adam’s crepe - spinach, tomatoes, garlic, mushrooms, topped with cheddar cheese - and also shared some of mom’s potatoes (and her ‘small’ fresh-squeezed OJ.)  Their portions are beyond generous, so leftovers came home with us.

Leaving the restaurant the rain was coming down even harder so we slogged through lots more puddles.  Even worse, the wind had picked up so much that it turned the umbrella I was holding over Mom, trying to keep her dry walking back to van, inside out.

Before heading home we drove to the far south end of Ocean City where we could drive right up to the water.  (The weather had kept us from being able to view the bay from the restaurant as is the usual case.)  As expected the waves were crashing, though any surfers wanting to ‘take advantage’ of the weather were playing elsewhere.

Once back home, where Pippa was again (still?) standing guard at the door.  I changed into dry pants, made myself a hot drink, and then settled on the couch to enjoy watching Ratatouille, which I had never seen.  Fun movie.

The rain has been pouring down harder and harder, with accompanying wind.  It's a good night to have soup for dinner, so Andy is whipping up some clam chowder ‘doctored’ with crab.
