This Escher II pattern and fabric kit arrived in Marcie's mail yesterday.

She brought it over thinking we needed to assemble color families, but it turned out that was already done.  So instead we went through my stash and choose fabrics to go with the mouse fabric I got from the giveaway stack at Foothills Wednesday.  Should make a cute (and quick) kid charity quilt.  FYI the color is way off; the mouse fabric is yellow, not orange!

Also picked up this freebie frog fabric, and plan to make 4-patches from the stripes to alternate with squares of the focus fabric.  I figure I should be able whip out that charity kid quilt easily in a couple of hours.  Again the colors are off, though admittedly the purples don't really match.  I'm just hoping that won't really matter.

When I was over at Marcie's earlier for lunch yesterday I admired the progress she's made on her embroidery quilt - it's going to be absolutely STUNNING!  Next time I'm over I'll be sure to snap pix of some of the finished blocks.  (Let's just say with the time required for each block, and the large number of blocks in the quilt, there are NO worries about finishing that quilt too soon!)  I love the intense primary colors of the fabric line she's using (yes I did ask what it's called.... but forget!) and may "need" to get some myself!

In less positive news, while we were visiting/lunching there Brownie embarrassed himself (and me!) by lifting his leg inside - and not once, but twice, first on the woodwork, and later on the corner of couch.  So I am not going to be bringing him along with me for the foreseeable future!

On the plus side, he did ask to go out when he needed to poop.  And forgot to mention that when I got out the leash to get ready to walk over there, he got really excited and happy... like a normal dog! <g>  SO NICE that he has finally realized that walks are fun!

Alex hooked up the new cable boxes yesterday (his flight wasn't until late afternoon) so the TVs are back up and running.  The picture does seem much crisper, but the downside is that there's a learning curve with the new remote; it took some doing last evening to find how to activate the closed captions.  We now also have voice commands, though I do expect 'some' <g> snafus using that.  Speaking of voice commands - in my car the other day on the way to eat (no way I can get up into his truck with my foot out of commission) Alex got the voice command for the phone to work on the Bluetooth.

My back was sore when I woke up this morning, no doubt from two hours of wrangling the hefty hedge trimmer yesterday (and much of that time over my head.)  I do have the gym today, but maybe working out will help?

On the plus side, I SLEPT IN UNTIL 6:30!!!!!!!!!!

This link appeared in my e-mail this morning with so many perfect entries,
many of which will 'likely' <g> pop up in coming posts.

Of course I had to start going through them while I sipped my coffee.
However, now it's time to
