Here's the first completed block, with the next block's dark strips laid out to get the full effect.  I like it!

But if the rest of the blocks take me this long, winter will be long over before Tom gets his quilt. 

I had thought I was done with it earlier, after figuring out which partial seams to do when - but luckily noticed that one of the two-color rectangles was wrong.  

They 'tilt' different ways, and though I had been careful to use the correct one... 

I oriented it upside down.

Now I'm going to take a break and eat some breakfast before tackling another block!

May even reward myself with a soak!
