Yesterday my chiropractor confirmed that the pain in my arm is originating elsewhere, from my serratus anterior muscle.

You really do need to pay attention to your serratus anterior. Without a well-functioning set of them, you will have a hard time moving your arms in certain directions, you will have an increased likelihood of neck and back pain, and you could be on your way to an injury.

While it has given me problems before, never to the extent where I have had to change the way I get dressed; in his words, it is now "seriously pissed off".

Serratus anterior pain can cause difficulty lifting the arm overhead and moving the shoulder normally.

Because it is the muscle involved when reaching forward, I'm thinking raking may have put it over the edge?  Now I am really paying attention to all the times I reach forward (which turns out to be much more than I realized) and am concentrating on using my other arm instead.

On my way to the chiropractor I'd noticed a sign for a hot tub store at the large concentration of businesses where the Loop 101 meets I-10.  So on my way home (feeling much better, and with "homework" on how to massage that over-my-ribs muscle) I stopped in to check it out.

It not only had a LOT more tubs to 'test drive', but I also found ones with considerably more comfortable seating!  I spent well over an hour there (actually closer to two) and got some excellent info from the salesman/owner.  Naturally he does want to sell me one of theirs (and now I do have a contender in mind!)

Still, I'm just starting my search and was quite clear about that.  He admitted that theirs are not the lowest priced tubs, and I am "likely" to see others that look the same.

However, I do have considerable information now about important things that are not visible, and am now armed with a number of questions to ask as I continue my search.

By the time I left there I was quite hungry, so instead of running errands I headed home for lunch first. About the time I finished eating it was well into the mid-afternoon, when Marcie and Latina cruised by for their daily jaunt in the 'park'.  So it was 4:00 by the time I popped over to TOQS to pick up the book Sheri had ordered for me.  As a bonus she now stocked the 'potato bag' batting I need (it had just arrived, and I got the first cut off the bolt) no longer necessitating my planned next stop.

As my last errand I filled up the gas tank on my way home, crossing yet another item off of my list.  It definitely felt like a productive day.

NOTHING on today's agenda (how often does that happen?) though admit I am toying with the idea of heading over to 35th Ave.; they're selling Aurofil thread at 42% off today.  That's the only thread I use (and it's expensive) so the schlep over there would be worth it.  Maybe I can drag Wanda or Marcie along with me...
