I grilled some chicken for dinner (turned out great) and then a couple of hours later Alex called to ask if I was interested in having him deliver some of the dinner they had just whipped up, a tortellini dish  and some garlic bread.

In the minute it took him to arrive at the back door with my plate of yummies, Tom called to check in.  The rock digging was a disappointment ("it's all dug out"), not all of the friends he expected had arrived, and the weather never got any warmer.  So he had left Oregon sooner than planned, and today arrived at Carlo's in Idaho.  Unfortunately the winter weather followed him there; it was only 58.  He doesn't think they'll be doing their usual fishing, and plans to be home by the weekend.

Just catching up on the taped local news from earlier in the evening - there was an officer involved shooting at Union Hills & 43rd, in "our" little strip mall!
