We had a lovely day yesterday, turning out to be 6 around the table because Aja was able to join us after all before having to head to work.  There was plenty of scrumptious food <G> and no one left the table hungry!  As expected, NO ONE was even remotely interested in dessert - pecan pie and ice cream - though Tom and I did "force" ourselves later in the evening.

Tyga was not neglected yesterday, either.  Even though he didn't score any of the people food, Alex had picked up the dog version of turkey and sweet potatoes for him.  It was a definite hit, and disappeared quickly!

Tom and Rick watched some of the football games, and Linda and I did some catching up.  I finally was able to pass along the Sunbonnet Sue pattern book I'd picked up at one of the meetings a while back - and happily it was one she didn't already have.  Miss seeing her at Foothills, and despite her busy "schedule" with Zahn (they did end up having him again last evening) we are going to make concerted efforts to get together in her "free" time!

Ben and the kids had dropped by at one point in the afternoon with a platter of Estera's baked-from-scratch Romanian yummies.  Before Linda and Rick headed for home the four of us (still pretty stuffed) shared one, and of course it was delicious.

We watched much of the dog show yesterday, and naturally did not agree at all with the judges' picks.  I do have to agree with Tom's assessment that some of the breeds look like scraggly street-dog mutts, and some of the breeds are ones we've never even heard of!  Even the announcers experienced difficulty pronouncing some them...

Did get a chuckle out of the awww moment when the chihuahua being examined by a judge started licking her hand.  Even though the announcers, somewhat surprised but obviously delighted, talked it up, I can't find a clip of it to share here.

Today it's back to the gym (though I'm proud to say I really didn't over-do it yesterday) and then maybe some sewing.  Am NOT doing any Black Friday shopping, though curious to hear what Alex scored last night.  One of the things on his list was a sound bar.  I know that Marcie is very happy with hers - once they replaced a bad cable and got it to work

sound bar is an all-in-one speaker system that delivers high-quality TV sound without requiring the space, complexity and expense of a home theater receiver and surround sound speaker setup. A sound bar's long, slender cabinet contains two or more speakers, and may provide either stereo or surround sound.

Tomorrow I will be driving Marcie to The Other Quilt Shop to 'celebrate' Small Business Saturday since she has a gift certificate burning a hole in her pocket (that was my Wednesday errand) and Sherri is having a 30% off sale that day.

I've been making progress (in dribs and drabs) on binding one of Marcie's quilts made from a panel she got at TOQS.  With a little luck (but mostly diligence) I could have that finished by tomorrow, when Marcie wants to show Sherri what she turned that panel into.

Did get some sad news this morning.  Sandy Warren, a Busy Bee friend from years ago (one year we were Secret Sisters) has passed away.  She was a sweet woman.

Her memorial service will be next Saturday (at the church where Busy Bees meets) and I plan to attend.
