Today was a fun day!

I went to Mesa with Sharon, Louise and Patty to do the Quindow (AKA Quilt in a Window) Scavenger Hunt so we'll be eligible for the big drawing at next week's AQG quilt show.

This was the first time for this activity, and we certainly enjoyed it.  It was obvious that someone had put a lot of thought into setting it up - the quilt patterns 'matched' the stores.  For example, the men's store displayed a Double Necktie, the framing store had an Attic Windows, the Italian restaurant showed a Roman Square, the Catholic book store's quilt pattern was the Cross & Crown, Queen's had a Heart quilt, the antique store's entry was a Thrifty Wife, one of the jewelry stores had a Jewel Box hanging and the other a Jewel I, etc.

We had a delightful lunch at one of the restaurants on the 'tour' (ate outside in the beautiful sunshine) and before we headed home got some ice cream at another one of the places.  All 14 stores were clustered together along a few blocks of Main St., which had all sorts of alcoves and benches to sit and visit.  And there were lots of fun statues to admire:

Don't know what Louise was whispering into the pig's ear!

All four of us spent money in a number of the stores, and I doubt we were the only quilters to do so.  I assume word will get around to the merchants that it brought in business, and I'm guessing that if AQG does the scavenger hunt again next year they'll have a lot more stores participating!
