Thought I'd post a few pix of the "kitchen",
which is currently looking quite bad!

The cabinets were delivered on Friday, and are currently parked in the garage; they get installed tomorrow so things should start looking better bit by bit!

Bill does need to do more electrical work tomorrow for the dishwasher and disposal before those cabinets can go in, and hopefully there will be no surprises so he's done with that before the cabinet guys need to get over there.  Of course there's a lot of other stuff Bill needs to do (like take out the window, recess the ceiling lights, move the ceiling light over where the kitchen table sits, hook up the "new" dishwasher at the guest house, etc.) so tomorrow will be another busy one for him.  IF he needs to, he can come back on Tuesday for a 3rd day (ka-ching, ka-ching) because Cesar isn't going to start laying the tile until Wednesday.

There's a lot of tile to be laid, on Wednesday and Thursday,
in both the kitchen and dining area -

and the hallway.

Then, the following Monday the appliances get delivered!  So in another week we should have a refrigerator inside (having the old one on the porch is not as convenient as one in the house, though it does beat using an ice chest!) and a working oven/microwave.  Unfortunately the sink and stove can't get hooked up until after the granite countertops are installed, which will happen "sometime after Thanksgiving".

I've finished up Monday's lecture (when I learned that in certain instances silence can also qualify as a hearsay statement!) and am now getting ready to start Wednesday's class.  Looks like there's still time to get a fair amount done before dinner.

In theory <g> we're going out to dinner tonight with Alex... but then we thought that last night.  When I called him to see where he was (a little after 6:00) he was helping build a chicken coop for a friend; he had lost track of time and spaced out dinner.  Since he was still in the middle of that project we "rescheduled" for tonight.

It's currently 4:00 and Tom just saw him briefly as he buzzed in, and then out again, apparently to go help pick up chickens to populate the new coop.  So it's anyone's guess whether we'll see him for dinner tonight, and eat at Shabu's, or not.
