If this is true, then I guess Patti and Mary and I were just not meant to see The Great Gatsby yesterday.  I picked Patti up (needed to check out the housepainting she's been doing all week) and then we headed up to Norterra.

Our first clue that something was wrong was when it wasn't on the marquee.

The ticket seller told us that Thursday had been its final day (despite the fact that the computer had listed one showing for Friday.)  She looked on her cheat sheet, and said that it was playing at Arrowhead (the one off of 83rd, by the 101) at 3:15.  Luckily I was able to get Mary on her cell, and tell her about the change in plans.

Mary had company coming at 5:30, and decided that would cut it too close for her; we'll just get together another time.  Patti and I got back in the car (we had found a spot right in front of the theater) and headed over to Arrowhead.  But guess what? (You get 3 guesses, but the first 2 don't count!)

When we got there (at 2:40) , their one showing of the day wasn't wasn't at 3:15, but at 4:20.  We'd known about that one, but preferred the earlier start time; plus at this point, we definitely were not going to sit around and wait for almost two hours.

We were starting to walk away when we decided to see what else was starting around then.  And thus the choice was made for us: The Internship.

It was entertaining, though of course not at all realistic (and certainly no surprises in the plot, Andy.)  Guess we'll have to wait until TGG comes out on Netflix.

This morning Patti and I are off to Prescott in a bit (where it's bound to be considerably cooler!) for the Thumb Butte quilt show.

We try to hit that show every June.  One year it was actually windy and cold (!) up there, though don't think that will happen today.
