Cat (and Mojo) left this morning, and Cheryl left this afternoon, so it'll be a tad quieter around here.  But Marie & Ruby came by this afternoon with 10-week-old Pahni to help liven up things.

Of course there was the obligatory sniffing.

Pahni had gotten a lot of attention from all the kids at Science Camp,
and she was pretty tuckered out...

so there wasn't much actual playing, just hanging out near each other.

She did get to snuggle with Neil.

And when Terry placed Neil's hand on Pahni he was definitely stroking her.

Brownie was definitely curious about what was going on up there.

Earlier in the afternoon Brownie and I walked down to the mailbox, about 1/4 mile - and then, of course, had to schlep back up.  It was sunny and rather warm, so we were glad to get back and have a drink.  There was a fair amount of traffic on the road, stirring up dust, and most folks slowed for us.  However there were a couple of drivers who just had to race on by despite my hand signal to please slow down... both of them women.

Now it's raining, accompanied by thunder and lightning.  While it's not a deluge it is a steady rain, so it should be a fair test of the roof - and my trail construction.
