Alex texted that the snow up in Flagstaff was "the best he'd ever seen", and the snow was coming down "in a blizzard", so the day started out great.  Unfortunately, after their first run (which was "awesome") the power went out, thus shutting down the lifts.   The guys are understandably bummed, and are staying the night in hopes that things are back up and running tomorrow.

Marilyn and Frannie were back here by mid-morning (the weather had cooperated, with the rain holding off) and we relaxed and admired more of my quilts.  I also turned the two remaining bowls of oranges into OJ. Once the rain quit in the afternoon we walked the neighborhood, and Frannie got to visit with the emus up the street.  It was very exciting!

Hmmmm... what's that?

Maybe I'll take a sniff

and a closer look.

Hey, wanna play?

Yikes! That thing hissed at me!

As if that wasn't enough fun, there was a herd of baby goats in another yard that came right up to the fence to greet us (they were so cute!) and one even kissed Frannie through the fence.

All in all a very successful day!
