Boy did we get a LOT of rain yesterday.  Curious to see what the official amount is, and assume (!) that the next cycle of irrigation, scheduled to begin tomorrow, will be cancelled.

Luckily Neil and Terry arrived during one of the breaks in the weather.  Tom's shop flooded several times - first time it's ever done that!  And at one point the rain was pouring off the roof onto the porch with such force that the water came all the way up to the back door.  The street out front was running madly, and our entire property was underwater.

Last night when Tom went out to for a final check of the the shop he discovered we'd had a rather large limb come down onto the fence/gate.  Good thing no one was under it when it happened!

So far this morning it isn't raining, so maybe Neil and Terry will actually get a peek at the sun today.

We had a great visit together yesterday, catching up on things. It's been way too long since I've been to the hot springs (4 or 5 years at least.)  Until then I'd visited every summer, starting in the mid-70s, and one memorable summer (it'd been a particularly rough year teaching) I spent all 10 weeks there recharging my batteries, never leaving the property once. Ah, the good old days!

Not much planned for today except hanging out and relaxing, then watching the Oscars tonight.  We spent part of yesterday exchanging movie suggestions.  They don't have cable where they live, so instead they watch a lot of movies.  I got out my PSIFF catalogs to help bolster my memory - but unfortunately I don't seem to have any of the earliest ones.
