I enjoyed an hour-long soak in the Party Pool this morning.  Despite the 'crowd' of more than a dozen people, it was very quiet and zen-like.

I took a brief break from floating <g> and concentrated on piling some rocks into a tower.  Of course it's nothing like what Warren creates (though I haven't seen evidence of any of his constructions this summer) but mine did merit a thumbs up from one soaker.

I have a couple more bumper stickers to share.

Those stuck at home back in Phoenix (people have been writing/posting their dread about the predicted heat wave for this week, when temps are expected to hit 118) may not feel quite so kindly about this next one...

And in other sad news...
I had just finished lunch (some of the leftovers from last night's delicious pasta dish) and was enjoying a brownie for dessert when Terry called me outside.  She had found a calliope on the ground, stunned from hitting the window.  It did try to fly a few times but one wing was not working at all, most likely broken, and the poor little thing would simply plummet to the ground.  We were not able to get it to eat, though not for lack of trying, and it was losing lots of feathers. Poor little hummer.
