Crack repair, which didn't happen until early this morning, turned out to be quite a chore!  I had expected the self-leveling goop to flow out of the tube easily, but it was the consistency of PlayDoh so that didn't happen.  Not only did it require a lot of strength to squeeze it through the tip, but even then the 'worm' wanted to stay stuck to the end of the tube.  I worked up quite a sweat, dripping onto the pavement - until near the end the tube "cleared" and it flowed out in the expected liquid form... at least for a bit. After that I ended up cutting the non-business end of the tube and scooping out what was left behind with my mini-trowel.  What a production!

This is what I have done so far, out the back door to the garage,
and it represents a long time and a lot of effort!

The true test will come on Tuesday, when we get irrigation that creeps up onto the cement, so I definitely need to finish sealing the rest of that crack by tomorrow to give it the requisite 24 hours to seal "before rain".  Think it's a good idea set the rest of the tubes (I bought 4) outside to warm up and hopefully encourage a better flow

Happy Birthday America and Tom.
(Of course that's not a pie I baked.... LOL!)

Tom's starting off his special day playing out in the shop while it's still "cool" - and he actually has started working inside in the afternoons and evenings just in the past couple of days.  (That equipment came in to the living room months ago, but has just been sitting.... kind of like my sewing machine.)  It's quite noisy and makes listening to the TV tricky; good thing I like using Closed Captions!

When Tom's ready to hibernate inside he can open his presents.  Not the biggest pile we've seen, though Alex told me yesterday that the one he ordered hasn't arrived yet.  Also Marcie & Mike plan to stop by today with their gift and we'll get to enjoy a social distancing visit.

No real celebration plans today. While amazingly there will be fireworks at various venues despite the fire danger (and with major fires already raging) we'll just stay home, away from all the crowds.
No doubt there will be plenty of idiot neighbors "entertaining" us with their own personal displays.
