Happy news in the LOST & FOUND Dept.:

My missing favorite earring turned up last night!  It had fallen between the bed and nightstand where it waited patiently (like this guy!)

And wait, there's more good news this morning: I found Pokey on the garage step, and was able to man-handle her partway through the door and 'convince' her to leave the garage premises.  She'll be much happier back in the yard where there's plenty of grass to graze on.  Now if I can just figure out how to keep that door closed...
