Today I joined Mimi (and her son Jeremy, and dog Lexi) for several hours of fun at the Paws for a Cause being held this weekend at

8755 N 83rd Ave, Peoria, Arizona 85345

We enjoyed watching the agility runs, and the frisbee exhibition (though none of the dogs were as good as Echo!) but the best part was watching all types of dogs run the lure course. Most of them were really, really excited, and couldn't wait to run.

The LURE FOR A CURE benefiting the National Canine Cancer Foundation is a huge draw and word at the dogpark is your dog wants to have some FUN! Bring them out try the Lure for a Cure course presented by Blue Buffalo. "Get some tail," chasing the lure over jumps, tight turns and through the tire on to the finish line! Think your pup will have the fastest time of the weekend? Let's see!

Every time we thought we'd seen every "variation" a dog would surprise us with a new twist.  Maybe you heard us laughing? Lexi got a chance to try - but she was not at all interested in chasing the lure.

Of course there were lots of vendors selling dog clothes, toys, treats, equipment, etc., and a number of rescue booths for various breeds. I picked up the info for Rusty's Angels Sanctuary, an organization that finds foster homes for senior dogs, most of whom became homeless when their people died or had to move into assisted living.  I sure do miss having a dog!

All this week our local news has been talking about tonight's playoff game against Green Bay. Alex is at the game with friends, so we'll be keeping an eye out for him (and his pink socks) at the game!
