When I went to collect the rest of my raked piles this morning, I was discouraged to find a blanket of newly-fallen leaves.  So I had to re-rake, filling up the 5-gallen bucket several times.  Sure hope the grapefruit tree isn't sending a message that it's nearing the end of its life... in which case I might never get Marilyn to visit again? <g> She does love her grapefruit!

Listening to NPR on the way to the gym, I caught a segment on the Phoenix Film Festival where they were talking about a documentary that showcases two local artists.  I knew Megan, the daughter of a friend, years ago when she was a teenager - and even then was an incredible artist.  FYI It is the only locally-produced feature documentary selected, and will screen three times during the festival.

Coalesce: A City Composed
Phoenix is in focus as a painter and a musician join forces in search of beauty and inspiration in alleyways, tract homes, intersections, utility poles, and power lines. An intimate portrait of creation and collaboration as native Megan Jonas and newcomer Jordan Ignacio create four new works. Ground-breaking animation brings paint and music to life in ways never seen before.

Alex will be home sometime this evening, though when he called a while ago he wasn't sure if he'd make it in time for dinner with us.  And he won't be around long; in the morning he and Tom head to Rocky Point for their fishing trip.
