Last night we started off the party weekend festivities with another fabulous dinner.  Terry had been busy cooking all day.  She grilled up 8 ears of corn and used it, along with some poblano chilis, to whip up the most incredible corn chowder.  She also had baked bread, and a peach cobbler using some of the those yummy palisade peaches we scored in town; Elinor and Richard brought Caesar salad with her homemade dressing; Lisa brought wine. Great conversation and lots of laughs, then off to the pavilion for zydeco music (Gumbo Jets) and dancing.

This morning I stopped at the pavilion to check out the silent auction, and bid on several items.  Then it was off to the party pool to visit with old friends and make some new ones.  One guy (who turned out to be a math teacher) was toting a hefty tome with him, "Einstein".  It actually looked quite readable, so I'm going to look for it.

One of the does was nearby with her (shy) twin fawns.  Most of the does we've seen look fat and happy, but this one definitely looked too thin.  Did you spot her fawn?

This shot did capture both fawns - see them?

Walking back I spotted this pretty birdhouse, which has sticks (a nest?) inside.

Almost time to head up to the potluck (Tom made up our fruit salad, with watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, and blueberries) and see how the auction went.
