This is yesterday's weather forecast.  The accompanying text said 'warm temps' - which 'proves' <g> it's not hot here until temps reach 110 or higher?

And at first glance, doesn't it look like temps read 410, 710, 510, 810, etc.?  Maybe then we'd get some sympathy for surviving our summer?  Or not.

Lisa was telling me yesterday how somebody (at Goucher?) was insisting that humans could not survive temps over 100.

Obviously <g> that person is totally unaware of the situation here in Arizona (and elsewhere in the world) where we see temps like that for months (and months!) on end.  And way too often, it's still triple digits here at midnight... SIGH!

On the news last night there was a story about at 78-year-old man who was out hiking yesterday (?!) when the high was predicted to be 107, and got lost and was out of water and had to be rescued.  His stupidity was compounded by the fact that instead of calling 911 on his cell phone (which would have helped them locate his position in a timely fashion) he called his son.  And the son's stupidity seemed to indicate a family trait... he waited 4 hours before he called 911 for help.  The lost man was in pretty bad shape when he was found, but is expected to recover.
