It was nice and 'cool' when I went out early this morning (to water, clean pool, pick up downed citrus, etc.) but by 7:00 I was reminded that this, after all, is Phoenix in June.
Tom was all loaded up and set to head out in the cool of the morning.
But remember my day yesterday? He's having one of those this morning.
During a final check he smelled gas, and discovered that the quad's carburetor seems to be leaking. He came inside to call Westy's, where he's always taken the Polaris for service, and found that they've gone out of business! The next place he tried doesn't open until 8:00 <sigh> though he did talk to someone; they both think the float has gotten stuck.
He's decided to take off anyway (he's bound and determined to get out of this heat)
and just 'hope for the best' (!)
In the meantime I'm getting ready to head off with Butch to a quilt show in Prescott, where it will most certainly be cooler than here. Of course almost any place is - except possibly Yuma. Couldn't find the old cartoon of Yuma's place in the universe, so this will have to suffice.
But it's definitely a dry heat here; the past couple of days our humidity has tied the all-time low, at just 2%.
