Tom saw the cardio surgeon this afternoon for his follow up to last week's surgery.  It turns out that we didn't get the whole story last week. Seems there was a blockage (as the stress test indicated) but they could not put in the stent because it was 100% blocked! Today the doctor tells him that his heart has made its own new bypass (never heard of that!) and his heart has not been damaged.  The doc feels it's just Tom's crappy genetics (both parents had heart issues, and his dad died young) - but I'm confused. Either the stress test showed a blockage which needs to be addressed, or the heart has made it's own fix. Can't be both, right?
