JR (their builder) came over Saturday morning with a (very) tall ladder and changed the pesky batteries, so all is well in that department. We sat around afterward chatting (Andy and I were discussing 'proximate cause' - he'd given me a case to read about, pursuant to yesterday's conversation on the drive down) and JR agreed with my slant on the situation. In the course of our chatting JR happened to mention that because of the cold spring (and resulting cold water) there are no crabs here yet; Crabs To Go is having to bring in (inferior) crabs from Louisiana. Can't remember the last time I visited and we didn't get to eat crabs (usually my treat.)

We had been concerned about Ivy, but she was vastly improved by noon and joined us for lunch. After a delicious meal (yes, I'm continuing to eat well, and way too much) Mom and I bush-whacked over to the park (and back) and checked out the Ocean Pines gift shop. There were some nice (and very affordable) quilted, embroidered, and cross-stitched items, but all I bought were five raffle tickets for one dollar.

The rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing; we watched 'Silver Linings Playbook', and when it ended we noticed it was raining. So instead of going out we brought in Chinese for dinner. When Sandy went to pick it up I walked Cokie and Mom set the table...teamwork :)

Of course we also watched the Preakness (being run in Baltimore, so whatever the hype was where you were, it was just that much more intense here.)

Ivy was pretty worn out from her draining morning, and went to bed right after dinner. We were surprised when she slept in so long this morning - and when Sandy finally went in to check on her she found Ivy on the floor. No idea how long Ivy had been there; she'd fallen trying to get to the bathroom and couldn't get up. Happy to report that when Sandy and I got her up she was a little shaken, but otherwise fine!

However Sandy figured the best thing would be to skip a trip out to breakfast and get her back to Vantage House, so Andy and Mom and I went to breakfast at 'the pink place' while Sandy and Ivy got on the road. Deciding what to order was its usual 'problem' (everything there is top notch) but I finally settled on their scrumptious strawberry and raspberry omelette (the food fest continues) and Mom splurged with a mimosa; she'll be able to add that in on her next daily call from the 'seniors and drinking' survey. (Lest you think she's a lush, she's probably had more alcohol in the past two weeks than she's had in the past six months.)
