Ever since she went on a GrandTravel trip with my mom (summer of 2003?) to England, Ireland, and Scotland, she's wanted to return to Ireland. And now she's off - we just got home from dropping her at the airport for this long awaited trip.
She'll be spending her Summer Abroad attending a writing program through the University of Iowa (yes, the very same folks who run the world famous Iowa Writers Workshop.) Their home base will be Dublin, but I'm pretty sure there are various day trips planned - gotta give them something to write about, right?
The Emerald Isle certainly has no shortage of scenic spots
and there may even be an occasional pub crawl "for the experience"
I'm excited for her - it's always nice when long-awaited dreams come true!
