Ask Me Why I Hurt: The Kids Nobody Wants and The Doctor Who Heals Them

Picked up this book from the 'New' shelf at the library on my last visit, and once I started it I just couldn't put it down.  It's the first-person account of Dr. Randy Christensen, a pediatrician here in Phoenix who works out of a Winnebago that has been refitted as a doctor's office.  It's hard to imagine the lives of these homeless kids, some of them barely in their teens, caught in a Catch-22. The stories are often heartbreaking, but there is also hope to be found in the efforts of the medical staff and social workers who strive to help those least able to help themselves.
