If today is Tuesday

nope, not in Belgium.  Today is my day for recording for the blind.

Today's selection was pretty interesting - finished up a book about child labor laws and practices around the world.  Like most things, it's not a black and white situation, and some of the points made were things I hadn't really thought about before.

Speaking of 'child' labor, Alex is about to start a second job this summer. He's already working at Carrabba's as a bus boy (and if you haven't eaten there, I highly recommend it - delicious food!)  When he turns 19 he'll be able to move up to server.  The legal drinking age is 21, so I'm not sure why you can serve drinks at 19 but not 18.  Just another one of the Mysteries of Life I guess.

Now he's about to start working with a friend at a car wash.  He has to get really dressed up for the Carrabba's gig (white button-down-collar shirt, tie, 'real' black shoes, and a specific brand of slacks, the whole nine yards) which adds to the classiness of the restaurant - but doesn't really seem necessary for a busboy.  Am assuming he'll be able to dress in considerably more casual duds when working at the car wash!
