The rain didn't arrive quite as early as predicted (the weather folks were aware that it's a slow moving front, but apparently it is slogging ahead even slower than anticipated) waiting until about 8:00 this morning. Marilyn skipped this final day of competition and 'slept in', then packed up her truck in relatively relaxed fashion - but she was still on the road a little before 9:00. Today is Don's birthday (he shares his special day with Dr. Seuss) but she's not likely to make it home until tomorrow.
It was a wonderful visit, and Frannie was a perfect guest despite still being a puppy. She just left and I already miss having a dog around!
So I did my best to elicit a promise from Marilyn that they make this an annual event.
Unfortunately the long drive from Texas was quite a schlep, especially since Marilyn is dealing with chronic pain issues in her driving leg. After 60 it's patch, patch, patch, right? I know this damp weather has been causing my back to kvetch!
