I not only remembered to take the bird ID book out to the hot tub with me this morning (amazing, right?) but also my camera.  Because when the tiny little yellow finch reappeared today I wanted to be ready.  She did, and I was.

However...

As soon as I snapped one quick pic the battery died. 

   

I do have two, so I always have another fully charged battery ready to go.  Just didn't think to bring it out to the hot tub with me. 

Here is that one picture I got, though even after zooming in I have been unable to spot Ms. Finch (who landed above and to the right of the gray bird, lower left.)   She is tiny (book says they're 4 1/2 inches) but I had hoped she'd appear on the larger screen.  

 I was wrong.  Again.
