In honor of Flip Flop Day

I've actually made progress this morning on my flip flop UFO.  First I squared up the blocks since only some of them measured 9x9; the rest needed to be trimmed up an inch or so.  

(And just for fun, take a guess about which block is mine.)

Next I collected some appropriate fabrics for the borders

and sashings.

Now that I'm on a roll 

unfortunately I have to stop to shower and then head off to the doctor.  I've got a pretty good idea of how I want to construct the quilt - though of course quilts are virtually always a fluid type of project, so my idea is
