Hoping to cross something off my (way-too-long) To Do list, I chose something that should have been easy: wrapping Tom's birthday gifts.  

I'd recently bought a 3-pack of Scotch tape, so I figured I was all set: got the wrapping paper, scissors, and took out one of (NEW) rolls, with the tab still attached.  But I'm guessing that someone at the Scotch tape factory was having a bad day that day?

because the spool had been inserted upside down, with the sticky side up.  It should have been an easy fix to just take out the spool and reattach it the right way...  

How naive!  So after putzing with it unsuccessfully I finally just dealt with it the way it was.  At least I have crossed off something today!
