In the NEVER A DULL MOMENT category:
There were high winds around Arizona yesterday, though not nearly as bad here as in other places around the state. Still, Tom found a surprise waiting for him when he went out to the shop today. He'd parked his truck in the shade of the cottonwood and look what just missed hitting it:
Obviously the woodpeckers have compromised that cottonwood also. It is on the list of the next trees to be trimmed (this coming autumn), but may need something done before then. I put in a call to Paul, who should be able to swing by late this afternoon to see whether something needs to be done now (before another limb comes down, possibly on someone!) or can wait 6 months.
Not sure if I mentioned that Carol (who had been recuperating from her broken hip surgery in Rehab, and was expecting to move into Independent Living in May) fell again and re-injured her hip, necessitating additional surgery. So she'll be starting all over again with her rehab... and possibly needing Assisted Living instead of Independent Living once she's eventually released. I'm still waiting on details.
AND speaking of injuries, our mutual friend Pat was just in a car accident the other day, resulting in surgery on one knee, plus she also broke her foot - on her other leg!
Without a good weight-bearing leg to help
Pat says she's going to be wheelchair-bound for at least the next 3 months.
In other news, Alex sent me a picture of the interior of the Rockstar bus, although I can't seem to access it on this computer. There are a "few" more occupants traveling on the bus that he'd originally guessed. In addition to him (and the bus driver) there are 10 other guys! Should make for a cozy <g> 7 weeks living in that bus. These 12 berths are apparently the "bedroom" for the guys:
DON'T sign me up....
