This evening, while Tom is watching Monday Night Football, I thought it would be a good time to mend his shorts (simple seam rip) and his favorite t-shirt (L-shaped barb-wire tear.)  I got the shorts out of the way, and then collected the pellon and a light-colored scrap to mend the t-shirt.  All went well: attaching the pellon to the scrap to enable it to stick behind the t-shirt, ironing the tear flat so that it covered most of the tear and was hardly noticeable, and then darning the you-know-what out of it with wonderfully matching gray thread.  It turned out great ...
except on the INside of the shirt
while the front of the shirt had the scrap and the multi-brown bobbin thread!
sigh.........

By the time I ripped everything out (I had darned over it and over it and over it!) the hole was considerably bigger, so the second act didn't turn out quite as nicely as the first one.

You know what they say...
