WEDNESDAY

On our way! I got a lot of work done on my cross-stitch during the drive.

First notable bumper sticker, seen on back of RV: Going Places With Smiling Faces.

We got sprinkled on while driving through the reservation, but there's obviously been a lot of rain earlier this spring/summer, because everything is bright, bright green.

Picked up the Row By Row quilt pattern in Cortez, and then made it to Durango in the nick of time, finding both quilt stores before closing.  Loved the sewing machine and sign outside one... Mama Said Sew.

Stopped for the night in Pagosa Springs, where we had a mediocre (but expensive) dinner - though we did have a nice view, sitting outside watching the San Juan river flow by, and all the people at Pagosa Hot Springs.

Sadly the Wi-fi at our motel wouldn't connect, and it turned out that "a lot of folks have trouble getting their Apple products to connect here."

THURSDAY

Treasure Falls, at base of Wolf Creek Pass, flowing heavily - but chipmunks all still in bed.  No snow at top of pass.  In South Fork, on other side of pass, quilt store (and interesting sounding hobby shop, Rock Paper Scissors) not yet open for the day.

Pastures are so green and lush the cows and horses having a field day.

Breakfast in Saguache (bought a raffle ticket for a quilt), gas and a few groceries, and then on to the hot springs.  Had to stop for some antelope on the road on the way in, and right after that passed a beautiful hawk sitting on a fence post.

We're here!  Great to see Terry and Neil, of course, and then we all trooped up to the party pool for a wonderful soak.

After that I took my landscape wall-hanging over to the office to hand over to Pam for the auction (she loves it) and she's taking care of a piglet!  It's the runt of the litter (the sow already crushed one of its litter mates) and the other piglets won't let it nurse.  Cute little thing, and definitely has quite a squeal!  I have a picture with little miss piggy, but of course won't be able to share that until we get home.

Alex went white water rafting yesterday and e-mailed this wonderful pic.  (He's the one in the front.). Certainly looks like the gang is having fun.
