Monday I took Tom for his colonoscopy.

We had to be there an hour before the procedure (not sure why), and then they were running behind (no pun intended) so they took him a half hour late.  That meant I got to spend even more time in the uncomfortable chairs in the waiting room.  On the bright side, I did get a lot done on my cross-stitch, and may have turned an admirer into a cross-stitch convert.

In the afternoon I stopped over to see how Patti is doing - sad to report that she's pretty miserable.

Today she sees the doctor and should find out if she'll need surgery (hope not!)  And maybe she'll graduate to a real cast; because of the swelling she's just in a splint with ace bandages wrapped around it.  Until I told her to be sure to ask for a swimming cast (the kind that you can get wet) she didn't know that casts came in that 'option'.  In this heat, being able to get in the pool could be a real life-saver!

For dinner Tom wanted to pig out at the Chinese buffet we'd discovered with Wanda a while back.  Unfortunately it wasn't nearly as good as we remembered, plus a lot of the food was cold.  We mentioned that to the waitress, who thought maybe it was because of how slow it was in there (it was really dead!) so food was not getting eaten and replaced as fast as usual.  Still, it should be kept warm while out on the floor, right?

This morning I returned (unread) books to the library, stopped to see Lynn and get a couple of quilt labels printed up (the one for the Colorado quilt has now been sewn on ), and then got my pre-vacation tune-up at the chiropractor.

On the way home from there I stopped in at the insurance office.  The saga that started in May of 2014 (when Lisa got a speeding ticket in Tucson) continues despite our best efforts.  Every time we think it's all been taken care of, guess what?  It's not really our problem, though we have been doing all we can to help.  Just never seems to be quite enough...
