Yesterday was the AQG Chapter Chair meeting in Chandler. The ladies from Foothills/Busy Bees (Louise, Melissa, Joyce and Joni) met here and we carpooled. (Everyone admired my challenge quilt.) The drive across town took us a little longer than expected (we had to detour because part of the 101 was closed) but Loise still got us there in time to get settled and have breakfast before the meeting started. I'm happy to report that things moved along smoothly (thank you, Ken!) and we were on our way home (via a different route) much earlier than expected in the afternoon. There was a charity fabric free-for-all at the end, and I picked up some fun fabrics. These kittens will make a happy little quilt for some little child, and I just happened to have a piece of the perfect green to go along with their eyes.
Alex came by after work, and I (sort of) got an update on his car registration issue that he'd called about while we were on our way to Chandler.
I took another nap in the afternoon (am I the only one noticing a 'pattern' here?) which helped me stay awake in the evening and watch most of the Houdini mini-series (with Adrien Brody) on TV. I made it until 11:30 (longer than Tom!) and taped the last hour to watch today.
We gots lots of lightning last night but only a smattering of rain from Hurricane Norbert. Maybe we will get some more today?
Just to help make that happen, I dragged the hose over to the pool and am filling it up. Happily our pool is not nearly as empty <G> as the swimming pool at the hot springs, which they drain and clean every Wednesday.
And while I'm on the subject of the hot springs, here are some more pix.
Terry & Neil, once the pool has been refilled.
The lower Apple Pool has a waterfall.
Tom looks pretty relaxed...
Me, too
Here's the view from that water fall:
The upper Apple Pool is several degrees warmer than the lower. That would be nice during the winter, but it was too hot to spend much time in there during our August visit!
The apple tree pools are named for the trees that grow in abundance alongside. The deer love eating the little green apples... and Graham loved feeding the apples to the deer.
The path up to the Party Pool is on the right; the hot water in the creek is flowing from the PP down to the swimming pool.
Here we are relaxing in the party pool - notice I'm the only one not wearing a hat (don't like them, which is why I never wore one during chemo!)
I did like her hat, though, and might wear one like it.
We helped celebrate Neil's birthday while we were there.
Michael and Terry 'approved' of Neil's candle-blowing technique.
Tom gave the birthday boy a smooch!
One of the gifts we gave Neil (along with a DVD and some of his favorite chocolate) was this arrowhead Tom knapped. (The arrowhead Tom donated to the auction sparked furious bidding.)
And now it's time to get something done around here. Could be anything...
