I'm missing out on a mini-reunion family brunch at Riderwood today.
As mom noted, if I lived closer I could join them, which (of course) would be nice. But also VERY nice was missing out on the really crappy winter weather they've been dealing with the past several months. <G> And judging by Gloria's posts on FB, it's still miserably cold there (for those of us now acclimatized to the Sun Belt) while we're already looking for shade here. But notice I included some Arizona sunshine above.
To the best of my knowledge, there will be at least 10 at the table: Mom, Andy & Sandy, Ed, Casey, Charlie & Harry, Gloria & Bert (in from Florida) and Matt (who lives in Virginia.)
Matt and Gloria sight-seeing on the Mall; she does look cold!

Yesterday Tom and I did yet more shopping for something to travel in this summer. We've pretty much ruled out RVs (pricey to buy and gas up) and slide-in campers (the only ones that fit Tom's truck are beyond cramped) and have moved on to trailers. After 3 days of looking we've seen an incredible array of options. Of course we still haven't found the perfect one...but when do you ever?
We have also noted that the closer to perfect you get, the higher the price...
Because the Toyota Tacoma is only a mid-size (although it does have the king cab and full size bed) that limits our towing capabilities. I'm focused on comfort/storage, while Tom is making sure we can stay safely inside the truck's capabilities. We have narrowed down the field, but are still looking.
But today we're taking a day off from roaming the valley looking. After just 3 days of searching things all start to run together, though we're trying to take copious notes and stay organized with all the brochures!
We did get to eat lunch/dinner at Wong's mid-afternoon. I haven't been there in years and years, although Tom makes it over there occasionally (mostly recently with Carlo a month or so ago.) Still as yummy as ever, though it's too bad they no longer serve the Tung Choy we both loved so much.

Nothing specifically on for today, so I MAY get some work done mucking out the garage, and possibly even make it over to the gym. And of course let's not forget my sewing projects.
