Alex got back yesterday from his mini-trip to Nevada (where they'd visited an interesting abandoned site) in time to join us for dinner out.  Driving home after dinner, on Yorkshire approaching 35th, we saw a car hit a (min-pin?) dog.

It likely wasn't the driver's fault; it was dark out, and no doubt the dark-colored dog came "out of nowhere".  But the driver didn't even stop to see if he/she could help!

At the first opportunity Alex made a U-turn, and we spotted the dog near where it had been hit.  The good news was that it had made it off the road, and (good sign) was moving along.  We made another U-turn and followed it as it turned north on 35th.  When we got close I hopped out of the car to try and rescue it.  But it ran from me, and there wasn't much else we could do.  We just had to hope that it wasn't hurt badly, and was also able to find its way home.
