Up around 4:00 (again), so I was wide awake when the delivery guys called at 7:00 to say they'd be here in 30 minutes. Too bad they called Tom on his cell phone - and woke him up. I'd already been quite busy, trying out the brainstorm that came to me last night. Not only did it work instantly, but there was no elbow grease required!
Of course I had to take a break when the delivery truck arrived
and the guys started bringing in the appliances.
It was a tight squeeze to get the frig rolled in between the "sink" and the island, but upon arrival it fit PERFECTLY in its slot.
As suggested we're going to leave some of the plastic covering on the front until after the counter-top guys do their install, so it's not quite as spiffy as it will be. Yet everything still looks wonderful! Of course we did a test run, and as expected the microwave definitely has a lot more power than our old one.
There was, unfortunately, a major wrinkle with installing the hood exhaust fan (long story) so that didn't happen today. Bottom line is we need to add some additional support studs up in the attic (of course no studs are where we need them to be) in order to hold the 88# of weight. Also need to move the wire coming through the ceiling, because when Bill ran it through the attic the island wasn't in; we had to decide the day of cabinet install exactly where to place it once all the other cabinets were in. Bill had to guess, and (naturally) the wire ended up a few inches outside of where the plenum will go. But that's an easy fix!
I knew the dishwasher couldn't get hooked up until the sink plumbing goes in, so that's currently sitting in our dining area. But it's nice and shiny. :-)
Not sure how long it'll take the frig to cool down, but certainly by tomorrow I can load that up. And then the momentum stops until <all together now> "sometime after Thanksgiving".
