Marcie popped over for a bit this morning to pick up a couple of hand-dug potatoes that Tom had brought home (we all forgot about that yesterday) and while here 'shopping' found a number of things in my quilting Give Away pile that she can definitely use.

She brought us a bottle of her homemade cooking hot sauce, saying "a few drops will be all you'll need."  Her recipe sounds good, with things like garlic and onions and tomatoes added to the peppers... and once Tom tries it out in one of his creations I'll be sure to let everyone know if a few drops was enough... or too much!

Wanda came over and also found a few things to go home with her before we headed off to lunch at The Rogue Tomato, where I managed to consume a huge hamburger.  She later commented she should have taken a photo of it!

After lunch we made a sortie to The Other Quilt Shop so she could look for some dinosaur fabric; Sheri didn't have any, but "somehow" I didn't leave empty-handed.  Though to be fair, I had intended to pick up another yard of that perfect fabric I found Sunday - just didn't count on finding a bolt on the sale rack I also liked.

Sheri also gave us each a spool of a new line of thread, Iris, to audition and critique.  She's already tried it out on her long arm, and got less lint from entire spool than from a single bobbin of her usual cotton thread!

Alex, currently in Iowa, just called to check in.  Though he hasn't had a day off since he left, and naturally will be glad for a break when this tour ends, he is still having a good time.  He's been doing a lot of driving of the RV, and learning all the other necessary functions, and says he's getting pretty comfortable with all of that now - though it was bear getting around in Chicago!

He told us the guy on tour with him would have attended the country music festival in Las Vegas if he hadn't been working.  Alex has worked that concert venue several times, and it turns out that he knows a number of people who were there on Sunday night - though none of them were injured.  Scary times we live in...

Now I'm waiting for Myra to pick me up for Book Club.

However since I read the book back June
I'm not sure how much I'll be able to contribute to the discussion!
