We had a wonderful day yesterday! While (naturally) it did include eating several large meals - and the chocolate angel food cake Barbara knows I like - mostly it was spent visiting together in Suzanne’s 24th-story apartment in Queens, which has a spectacular view of NYC in the distance.

In the afternoon Barbara and I left “the girls” and walked multiple circuits around a pond at a nearby park, enjoying the cherry blossom trees and the children who were themselves enjoying the friendly geese.  Apparently that park only allows adorable children to play there.

It was bittersweet for Mom and Suzanne to part at the end of the evening.  Friends since childhood who have stayed close all these years, they never did run out of things to talk about.  Although Suzanne was actually feeling better than when we visited her last year (after a serious bout with the flu months earlier) nothing is “guaranteed” at their age. We do, however, plan to do it again next year!

I took LOTS of pix, and once I am reunited with my laptop I can share them.  Now it’s time to get ready for the return schlep, though with no time-table it should be less stressful.
