Tom got home Thursday around dinner time. It was cold when he left (dressed in warm clothes and ran truck heater) but this weekend we're approaching the 110 mark. He brought home a lot of excellent rock - and some "hitchhikers"; I got to remove a couple of ticks from places he couldn't reach.
My yardwork has continued through this morning (cans are now overflowing) but I expect my motivation in that department to diminish substantially as there will be less "cool" parts to the days.
Today I got the binding made and attached to the t-shirt quilt, so it's all ready for the final step of blind-stitching. Plan to do that on Saturday at the Sewcial.
Yesterday Marcie and I escaped to Prescott for their quilt show, which we both enjoyed. As expected, we bumped into a number of friends (Wanda, Sharon, Joyce, Collen) doing the same thing with a groups of their quilting friends.
We were allowed to vote for 5 quilts, one in each category. That "chore" was made easier since each category had its own color-coded information card. Applique quilts were on yellow, Pieced quilts on green, Art quilts on pink, Mixed Technique quilts on gray - and don't remember what the fifth category was! Another nice touch was that the quilter's picture adorned each card; always nice to put a face to a name.
Groups have started making custom "do not touch" signs for their quilt shows, and there were many creative ones yesterday. I took pix of more than 30 of them, but will just share a few.
This quilt was made by members of Mountain Top Quilters Guild
as thanks for their 2016-2017 president, Jan Adams.
A variety of techniques were used, for an overall wonderful effect.
The tent flaps opened to reveal surprises within -
Many more pix to post, but ran out of steam. Maybe tomorrow!
