Today Tom and I headed over to Old Town Scottsdale for the Made In Arizona Festival, where "all items, including food, art and clothing are made and produced in the Grand Canyon State. The festival features 100 booths containing Arizona companies or products."
It was a beautiful day (we headed home before it got really hot) and (of course!) I purchased something: a matching hat and purse for my upcoming trip.
As long as we were in the neighborhood, we stopped in at Gilbert Ortega's (a high-end gallery) to see how the sale of Tom's knives had gone. Gilbert was very pleased to see him ("where have you been?") and will be buying more knives from Tom. Plus one of the saleswomen gushed over Tom: "So you're the wonderful artist who made them!"
Alex got home late last night (after I'd gone to bed) but told Tom it was the 'best ever' trip. Of course Alex was still asleep when we left this morning, but he hadn't yet left for work when we got home so I (briefly) got to hear some of the details. Because he helped out the Red Bull folks he scored a VIP pass, which gave him an 'in' to a number of things including being onstage with the DJs. He also ended up invited to party on the boat of the Red Bull owner, who offered him some sort of job.
