A good way to beat the heat around here is to take in a movie (the theaters are often so chilly that we sometimes need sweaters!) Only thing playing that I even remotely wanted to see was Super 8.
None of my usual 'partners in crime' were available, so Tom went with me. By the time we'd gotten 2 tickets, one large popcorn, and a drink we'd dropped $28 - no wonder the movie theaters are in trouble! It was a reasonably enjoyable couple of hours although Tom thought it was just too far-fetched... but aren't most movies these days? Probably not worth $28, but of course you don't know that until after you pay your $ and watch the film.
