Apparently she was found walking down our street last week in front of the church across the way, so she hadn't gotten very far before she was spotted. (I shudder to think what would have happened if she'd made it up to 35th Ave., which is the direction she was headed.) The people who found her turned her in to the 'emu folks' (who now have names: Robin and Brian) on the next corner, who also have sulcatas, and they just waited for a "Lost Tortoise" sign to appear. Alex put fliers up around the neighborhood late yesterday afternoon, and we got the happy phone call this morning. Pokey's gotta be happy to be back home, at least for the moment - she's currently chowing down on the strawberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, green beans and broccoli we've saved from the past several days.
