Haboob

Yesterday Phoenix got hit with a haboob (a type of intense sandstorm commonly observed in arid regions throughout the world) more intense than any previously seen here.  Reports on its size varied, but by most accounts was a mile high and about 80 miles wide.  It even made the National News.
Somehow we seemed to miss the worst of it - and may have the only pool in the metropolitan area that isn't filled with dirt!  A friend was at a nearby gas station when it hit, and she said it was BAD!
The news mentioned that car washes all around The Valley were absolutely mobbed today, and in fact Alex got called in to work there this morning.  He said it was nonstop all day (and only left because he had to head to his other job at Carrabba's.)  The good news was he made lots of $ in tips.
